Another green feature is the gathering of rainwater in an elevated 2700 gallon reservoir and after being filtered, using it for domestic purposes. Even waste is being taking care of by processing it just below the house. Well IT fans here’s one for you: everything in the house is wired to a central laptop computer, which controls well… everything.

3. The Dome House

A company based in Japan, has created an amazing energy efficient, weather durable, igloo shaped house kit. The fun part is that you can become just as a snail because you are now able to carry the house kit with you when you move or leave for a holiday.

4. Portable House

Dear reader we have here for you the most functional, practical and environmentally friendly house in the world! The Martin portable house is weatherproofed with NASA accredited insulation. So, don’t worry, it lasts even in the harshest conditions. Even though the space is small, it has been designed to be wisely used, so packing all your things in it and still feel comfortable, shouldn’t be a problem. This amazing home was designed for a competition called Solar Decathlon Europe and its main feature is that it produces more energy than it consumes. The interesting part is that an energy tower is situated in the centre of the house, being the main interest point of the solar house. The house features air gaps operable windows and doors which offer ventilation in the summer and pre-heat the air in the winter. On the outside the house is covered in solar panels.
